JOB DESCRIPTION:
SUMMER RENTAL ASSISTANT
- Location: North Beach, Tahoe Vista, Lake Tahoe CA.
- Job Type: Part-time
- Salary: $15 - $20 /hr.
- Schedule: Days and/or Weekends

Responsibilities:
- Setting up rental booth at beach & taking down rental booth at end of shift.
- Moving and carrying kayaks, paddle boards, and rafts to launch.
- Prepare & organize equipment for rental, ensuring everything is in proper working condition.
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment (Kayaks, SUPs, PFDs, merchandise etc.)
- Verbal delivery of safety and basic paddling prior to guests’ departure.
- Understanding orientation of locations guests can paddle to.
- Fitting guests for PFDs, kayaks, SUPs.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Enforcing all policies and procedures, ensuring the safety of all guests.
- Answer guest’s questions.
- Entering guests into booking system.
- Ensure paperwork is properly filled out by guests.
- Cash and Credit Card handling.
- Maintain a clean work environment and professional attitude.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Creates a memorable experience.
- Inspects all equipment for any damage.
- Drive the P2U van from storage location to beach, and back as needed (refer to requirements below).
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must be very reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Positive attitude, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous customer service experience preferred.
- Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Basic knowledge of outdoor recreational activities; kayaking, paddle boarding and rafting is a plus.
- Flexibility to work a variable day shift schedule, weekends and holidays.
Requirements Continued:
- Driver’s license, safe driving record.
- Reason: Will need to drive the Paddle To You cargo van where it is stored in Kings Beach to Vista Point to set-up rental booth, and drive it back to lot after taking down the rental booth.
- Ability to lift equipment to set-up rental booth and move equipment for customers as needed.
- Reason: Equipment is stored in the van. The rental booth and equipment need to be removed from the van, taken to the grass on beach, and set-up. Then taken down at the end of the day, put back in the van.
- Equipment includes – 10x10 pop-up. 8 paddle boards, 8 kayaks, 3 rafts, paddle, 6 totes full of life jackets, folding table, banners, generator, and chairs. Kayaks are moved using Kayak trolly.
